Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death in the US, and the risk of a person suffering from cardiovascular disease is highly dependent on the genes they have inherited. We work to identify and understand the functions of genes that affect the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, as well as to understand the function of genes involved in the normal and pathological development of the heart.
