Research Interests
The Bohn lab is generally interested in the application of developmental mechanisms to neurodegenerative diseases. The present focus is on delivery of genes to the nervous system that provide increased expression of neurotrophic factors and/or factors that interfere with neuronal cell death. Studies are also ongoing to determine the effects in the host brain of increased expression of a foreign gene and to optimize methods for gene delivery to specific neurons.
