Spencer (Chiang-Ching) Huang, PhD
Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine
Feinberg School of Medicine
Research Interests:
Dr. Huang's research has focused on gene expression analysis with application to cancer research. He is particularly interested in utilizing and developing novel data mining techniques to identify inherent patterns and associations between expression profiling and patients’ phenotype. He has helped develop an efficient method using proteomic/genomic data to identifying low stage high-risk patients in lung adenocarcinoma. He is also interested in the integrated analysis of various biological data, especially in the construction of genetic pathways. The development of efficient algorithms to combine gene expression data with location information, promoter sequences, gene ontology and others should open the door to better understanding of the complex mechanism in carcinogenesis.
